About the event
As soon as you step into the dance studio, you're greeted by the intoxicating sounds of the djembe drums, which fill the room with their rich, powerful, and invigorating beats. The music is like a call to action, urging you to move your body, feel the rhythm, and connect with the community around you.
The class begins with a warm-up, where you're encouraged to loosen your muscles, release any tension, and get into the groove of the music. The instructor is a master of the art form, guiding you through the steps and techniques with precision and passion.
As the class progresses, the music intensifies, and the movements become more complex and dynamic. You feel your body coming alive, responding to the beat of the drums, and the energy of the community around you.
One of the most beautiful aspects of West African dance is its emphasis on community. You're not just dancing for yourself, but for the group as a whole, and there's a palpable sense of unity and support that permeates the class.
As the class comes to a close, you feel a sense of accomplishment, knowing that you've not only learned some new dance moves, but you've also connected with a community of like-minded individuals who share your love of West African dance.
West African dance is more than just a form of exercise or entertainment, it's a celebration of life, culture, and community. Come join us and experience the power and joy of West African dance for yourself!
Each class is limited to 30 students. Registrations are non-refundable after the session begins, and WALK UPS WILL BE PERMITTED but must register at the door card only. Masks are strongly encouraged for all particpants.
