KO-THI DANCE COMPANY COMMEMORATES 55 YEARS OF EXCEPTIONAL PERFORMANCE AND CULTURAL PRESERVATION. FOUNDED IN MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN KO-THI DANCE COMPANY HAS BEEN A BEACON OF AFRICAN AND CARIBBEAN DANCE TRADITIONS SINCE 1969, BRINGING
CONTINUNITY, FAITH, AND LOVE TO AUDIENCES WORLDWIDE.
CELEBRATING BLACK DANCE FORMS' ROLE IN CULTURAL HERITAGE IS VITAL, AND CREATING SAFE SPACES FOR ARTIST TO LEARN, GROW AND NETWORK IS CRUCIAL.
UNDER THE BAOBAB TREE CONFERENCE PROVIDES SUCH AN ENVIRONMENT, BRINGING TOGETHER ARTISTS, CHOREOGRAPHERS, AND EDUCATORS TO SHARE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES WHILE EXPLORING THE RICHNESS OF BLACK DANCE THROUGH WORKSHOPS, DISCUSSIONS, AND PERFORMANCES.
Drum & Dance Conference
Our dance & drum conference features workshops, discussions, and performances highlighting the diversity and richness of black dance forms. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with different techniques, styles, and cultures, deepening their understanding of the art form and itn s significance.
Ko-Thi Bantaba Dinner
BANTABA, reminiscent of the vibrant gathering spaces under the shade of a towering tree, beckons you to reconnect with the heart of Ko-Thi. Immerse yourself in an elegant evening filled with delectable dining, performances by guest artists, and a captivating 55-year retrospective. Witness the magic of our esteemed TON KO-THI CHILDREN’S PERFORMING ENSEMBLE as they grace the stage with their talent and exuberance.
